I have designed and completed a WorldSkills event project for Palmer’s College.
The “Have a Go” event gives students the opportunity to see what is involved in sports-related careers. The event covered a wide range of topics, from sports journalism to PE teachers and football coaches.
Design project
I created a number of flyers, posters, pop-up banners, outdoor banners, and website banners. Timescales were tight as all needed to be designed, printed, and delivered within 2 weeks! The concept was to use relevant sporting images and base them on national branding. It was bright, colourful, and eye-catching.
Workshop
I not only created the marketing for the event but also ran an aerobic workshop. I did a couple of classes throughout the afternoon. The students took part in the class. They could also find out more about becoming an instructor and what is involved in running a class. It was great to see so many teenagers interested in sports and taking on board advice for possible career paths.
WorldSkills London
The WorldSkills “Have a Go” event is part of the WorldSkills London competition. It is a fun, interactive, and engaging way of getting young people involved in sports across the UK.
A fun project to be involved with!
